Abstract | The gavel fell on 22 May 1994, at the Beijing Lido Hotel, winding up a day of heated debate over issues ranging from women's rights to nuclear disarmament. The 50 or so formally-dressed, solemn-faced United Nations delegates filed into the corridor, where they started their post-mortems on the day's proceedings. This was a Model United Nations (MUN) activity sponsored by the International School of Beijing (ISB), with Beijing No.55 High School and the American School in Japan (ASIJ) also taking part. |
