AbstractIn an address to the UN General Assembly at the beginning of October 1994, Chinese Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister, Qian Qichen has called for "relevant and necessary" reforms of United Nations institutions in response to drastic changes in the world situation that have developed over the last few years. The reforms should be aimed not only at enhancing the positive role of the world body but should also take full account of the interests of developing nations.
