| Abstract | Although there are 12 million accountants in the PRC only 5.3 million have professional qualifications, and these fall short of international standards. Overseas accountancy firms have been in China since 1991 and have advised the Chinese Government on raising business accounting to international levels. But this goal is unlikely to be realized for at least 25 years while Chinese accounting is still based along Russian methods. However, all of that are moving to change. |
