| Abstract | Parallel to the increasing incidence of coronary artery disease among the local population, there have been equally rapid developments in the field of interventional cardiology and secondary preventive measures over the last decade. Improved surgical technique has also contributed to reduce peri-operative mortality. The vast majority of patients can now expect to have their symptoms improved and some with their life expectancy prolonged with the appropriate treatment modalities. Early appropriate referral to specialised cardiac centres are essential. |
