| Abstract | The more city dwellers are beset with noisy construction and surrounded by canyons of concrete, steel and glass, the greater their appreciation for the fast disappearing traditional skylines. But there seems to be a serious shortage of funds to maintain public parks, monuments and green spaces. A virtual mass protest took place in Beijing earlier in 1994 when the rumour spread that there was to be a major rise in park admission fees. |
