| Abstract | Early in March, the stock market slumped over 1,000 points, or eight per cent, in two days. Half that fall was attributed to a 178 point drop in the Dow Jones index sparked by a big rise in employment figures which left the bond markets bleeding. The other half was down to jitters over PRC missile-rattling. |
