| Abstract | Today the standards of business in Hong Kong is slowly changing. With the advent of the ISO 14000, companies are now wondering how long it will be before European companies start insisting that they show a responsible attitude towards the environment. The other fear is that countries, convinced by the new standard, may begin making it mandatory for manufacturers to become eco-friendly. Marketing environment management systems (EMS) has begun. This is quite remarkable. Standards are now recognized as a core strategic business issue. Barely 15 years ago the ISO's activities were largely technical. |
