| Abstract | Problems bedevilling the Guangdong Electric Power Development's two key plants have been compounded by unfavourable tax rates, prompting W.I. Carr Indosuez Capital to cut the 1995 profit forecast for the 52 per cent owned newly listed subsidiary of Guangdong Power Holdings. However, the securities brokerage believes GEPD has already turned the corner. it has now raised the 1996 and 1997 forecasts, and maintains that, despite its difficulties, the company is still a buy. |
