| Abstract | The Bauhinia Web Link Gallery is Hong Kong's only virtually real gallery, which is to say it operates only within the "confines" of a computer network. It is one of Hong Kong's links with the wider international art market - links made ever more immediate and visual by the Internet, Interest in this new medium is enormous, although many people do not understand how it works and many are alarmed by its potential as a carrier of pornography or recipes for blowing up the local school. But it can also be an efficient tool of promotion, ideal for showing artists' work and providing information about their accomplishments. |
