Abstract | The Sanxingdui (three star mounds) site in the village of Yueliangwan (meaning Crescent Bend) lies outside the old city wall of Hanzhou, now known as Guanghan city, some 40km northeast of Chengdu. It has yielded more than 100,000 pieces of bronze, gold, stone, pottery and ivory from over 60 years of excavations. It is the largest collection of early Shu relics ever found in the mainland. |
