| Abstract | In spite of the vast urbanization of the New Territories in the past 30 years, villages there still exist and even thrive in close proximity to the new towns and major roads. But they too have been affected by the new prosperity; many traditional villages houses inside the villages have been replaced by modern, ususally three-storey, buildings, often incongruous with their surroundings. Still, the old charm of the villages persists, and visiting them can be very rewarding. |
