| Abstract | Although the date of the photograph is relatively recent, the rock engraving depicted on it is believed to be ancient. Eight sites are known in Hong Kong territory where similar engravings occur. Most are cut into vertical rock surfaces, close to the coastline overlooking the sea. They are all deeply eroded from long exposure to the weather. |
