| Abstract | Inbound travel, whether for business or pleasure, has been one of the foundation stones of Hongkong's success. During the 1990's, however, the inbound travel industry has been running faster merely to stand still -- at least in dollar terms. The reason has been a similar increase in outbound travel by Hongkong residents and, more importantly, a far bigger increase in spending by outbound Hongkong travellers with their new found affluence. |
