| Abstract | In the past, state of the art design at the limit of current practice worldwide demands the best of international practice in design, and considerable directly relevant experience in construction. Neither Hong Kong, nor any small developing country, can provide the key professionals for such projects. But that situation is changing rapidly: the opportunities are there. The time has come when Hong Kong's own engineers should assert themselves, demonstrate that they have benefited from the wealth of overseas expertise that has been operating in Hong Kong, and make that expertise and experience available for the regional development which will be a feature of the next 25 years. |
