| Abstract | Officials in both city-states do not admit there's any serious rivalry between them. They complement each other in several fields, they say. However, it's evident that Singapore offers a wide range of incentives to multinational companies to base themselves there, while Hong Kong pursues its traditional tested policy of laissez-faire which ensures a level-playing field for everyone - domestic and overseas firms. |
