AbstractThe Provisional Airport Authority (PAA) intends to carry out on the airport platform extensive planting of vegetation in order to establish an attractive, natural environment for the benefit of passengers, visitors, the airport's tenants and licensees.Contractors with experience in large-scale landscaping works have pre-qualified and are now preparing tenders for two major contracts at Chek Lap Kok. One contract is to establish grass on approximately 280 hectares of reclaimed land, which is predominantly marine sand; the other is for the planting of trees and shrubs, mainly of seeding size, and ground cover plants over an area of around 63 hectares, with provision of drip-line irrigation over part of this area.
