AbstractThe Board of the Provisional Airport Authority (PAA) has awarded a sub-lease to Cathar Pacific Airways for a major property development worth HK$3.5 billion (US$488 million). PAA Chief Executive Officer, Dr Henry Townsend, said the announcement in October that Cathay Pacific Airways is to move its entire airline operation in Hong kong to Chek Lap Kok indicates a large degree of industry confidence and strength of private sector investment interest in the new airport.
