| Abstract | Depression is not uncommon in general practice. While we advocate primary care as far as possible before referral to the psychiatrist, our training in the management of depressiion apart from counselling and prescribing antidepressants has never been assessed. Apparently we are still in the stage of promoting the awareness of the diagnosis. Perhaps it is also the time to audit ourselves on the management of depression. We report here two depressed patients whom we encountered in about the same period. They illustrate that depression is not rare in our daily practice, and that the management is complicated, demanding and challenging. |
