| Abstract | This research will focus on the development and operations of the POS (point of sale) system in existing fashion chain stores in Hong Kong. Emphasis will be put on two distinct areas which can benefit from the POS system: "back-office" and "front-office" applications. And it will contain a number of case studies on some popular retail fashion brands (e.g. G2000, Bossini, Giordano) in which fashion retailers describe their reasons for choosing POS system, the benefits they have gained on the operational, decisional and strategic levels, and the practical lessons associated with their installation in the areas of both back and front offices. |
