| Abstract | The government exhibition, Hong Kong - City of Vision, that had travelled to Chicago, Frankfurt and other European cities as a powerful trade promotion, was put on show for Hong Kong's residents. In the same week, it was possible to listen to lectures given by Jean Nouvel, Christian de Portzamparc and Odile Decq/Benoit Cornette, visit the exhibition, French Contemporary Architecture, at City Hall, view works by Hong Kong's young architects at the Visual Arts Centre, expand your knowledge of Chandigarh, India's city master-planned by Le Corbusier in the early 1950s as well as take part in a forum on Le Corbusier's town planning skills and view videos of his life and work all at the Arts Centre. For a few weeks at least, Hong Kong was also talking architecture. |
