| Abstract | The call for submissions for the emblem and flag of the future Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was heard around the world. Ethnic Chinese everywhere were eligible to enter the design competition, and thousands did. The six finalist chosen by the panel were given awards but their designs were eventually rejected by the Basic Law Drafting Committee, which then asked Tao Ho and two other members of the panel to come up with designs of their own. |
