| Abstract | Hongkong stockbrokers do not give a fig now which way share prices go -- provided they go somewhere. With daily turnover running under $2 billion, they are not earning enough to put gas in the tank of the research director's BMW. There have been gasps from the crowd as Wall Street continues its tightrope walking act. Yet the numbers coming through are judged to be beautiful. As somebody said of the US economy, it is just like Goldilocks' porridge -- not too hot and not too cold. |
