| Abstract | Mr Donald Tsang, said recently he believed the local property market was c̀€lose to hitting bottom'. Coming in the midst of a subsidence in consumer confidence -- recent surveys showing 56 per cent respondents expecting economic prospects to worsen -- Mr Tsang's remark was aimed at changing sentiment. His interest extends further than that, however, with the government reliant on a buoyant property market for a growing share of its revenue -- all the more so with big land sales coming up in the near future. |
