AbstractHong Kong imports of pearls increased 57.1 percent to US$170.98 million in 1994 from US$108.77 million in 1993, figures from the Census & Statistics Department in Hong Kong show. For imports of worked cultured pearls, China replaced Japan as the largest supplying countuy with an increase of 316.4 percent to US$65.15 million from US$15.64 million from in 1993. Imports from Japan decreased 11.9 percent to US$45.18 million.
