Article TitleThe Hong Kong economy in 1996.
Is Part OfHang Seng economic monthly ; Dec 1995, p.1-4, illus.
AbstractIn the coming year, while sentiments might improve as interest rates are expected to fall and property prices stabilize, no dramatic rebound in economic activities is likely. Export growth would also show with the recent strengthening of the Hong Kong dollar and more moderate growth in Hong Kong's major markets. The economy would remain underpinned by buoyant growth in public spending and expand by 4.8% in 1996, while inflation would ease to 8.5%.
