| Abstract | The number of unwanted pregnancies in Hong Kong has been increasing. It rose steadily from 10622 cases in 1981 to 26057 in 1993. Problems usually occur in young girls with unstable relationship and patients with ambivalent attitude towards the pregnancy. Counselling for this group of patients may be difficult and unrewarding and it is particularly frustrating to see them coming back with another unwanted pregnancy. It is most important for the general practitioner (GP) to convince these patients to use a reliable method of contraception. |
