| Abstract | Hong Kong has a plethora of trusts, foundations, societies, funds and associations. About 8,000 are registered under section 88 of the Inland Revenue Oridinance, making them tax-deductible bodies. While this number surely reflects a healthy charitable spirit, the lack of regulation is a little worrying. Gaining government approval for a trust or institution in the territory has long been something of a formality. |
