| Abstract | To enter Shanghai Tang is to enter a curious Wonderland world of nostalgia, neon and natty dressing. The shop, or department store as he would have us call it, is the latest addition to the David Tang empire. It has received a mixed reception from the media, inducing such derogatory nomenclature as, "an upscale Chinese Emporium" and "cheesy", and accusations that Tang and his public relations people take themselves too seriously. |
