| Abstract | On a Sunday last June, more than 200 farmers in the town of Zongga, in western Tibet's Gyirong county, gave up their day of rest and relaxation. Instead, they marched to a mountain outside the town and, armed with picks and shovels, spent the day digging up the earth and hauling away rocks. |
