| Abstract | Last year, the ill-conceived lure of more stable and fatter returns from office or commercial developments saw the axing of 1,301 Hongkong hotel rooms. So far this year, Li Ka-shing has brought the wrecker's ball crashing through the Hilton, the closest thing to fate of the Sheraton and the Miramar in Tsim Sha Tsui hangs in the balance. Also bludgeoned was the Victoria in the Shun Tak centre. In all, another 1,285 rooms have been lost and a further 1,298 roms are at risk. |
