| Abstract | In line with Government's policy to promote quality in public works construction, the approved contractors for public works have been advised by the Works Branch, Hong Kong Government that with effect from 1 October 1996, all contractors shall be required to be certified to ISO 9000 quality assurance standards as a condition for retention on List I Group C, or List II and for admission or promotion to List I Group C or List II. The requirement for ISO 9000 registration will be the need of all contractors if they want to tender for Government contracts after 1996. The aim of quality assurance is to ensure that the project is completed on time with minimum of wastage and is produced with maximum efficiency in all its stages of design, procurement and construction. |
