| Abstract | The Occupational Health Division receives reporting of occupational diseases from two main sources: i) notifications by medical practitioners as required under the Factories & Industrial Undertakings (Notification of Occupational Diseases) Regulations and ii) Notifications by employers as required under the Employees' Compensation Ordinance. In 1994, a total of 369 cases of occupational diseases were confirmed. The main occupational diseases were pneumoconiosis (mainly silicosis), gas poisoning and dermatitis. |
