| Abstract | Edward Chan, deputy managing director of Hongkong-listed independent power producer Wing Shan, is under no illusions about what is holding up foreign-financed power projects in China. While foreign investors huff over rates of return, access to the foreign exchange markets to repatriate yuan-denominated earnings, and the enforceability of contracts, he singles out tight credit control to stem fixed-asset investment as the true culprit. |
