| Abstract | Northern Telecom, Philips Semiconductors and their Chinese partners have announced that the Chinese Government has approved a semiconductor foundry joint venture, Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation of Shanghai (ASMC). The approval of the contract for the joint venture, signed in November 1994, completes financial arrangements and marks the official start of the joint venture's foundry operations. |
