Abstract | Hong Kong's domestic exports of textiles and clothing to Japan represent only a small share in Japan's market, hence unlikely to be targeted for MFA quotas. Of more concerned are re-exports of China origin. Hong Kong's re-exports of Chinese textile products to Japan have been growing by an average of 20% in the past three years. China has indicated to MITI that it will impose voluntary restrictions on exports of more than 10 textile products including cotton yarn, cotton grey fabrics, cotton-polyester yarn, etc. |
