AbstractSweeping regulations imposed on China's fledgling advertising industry in February are playing havoc with the ability of international advertising agencies to manage their mainland business. Brandname image-makers do not deny that the PRC's central advertising industry regulator, the State Administration of Industry and Commerce, had the right intention when it acted to curb the proliferation of misleading - even false - adverts.
