| Abstract | Mark Siladi and Virgin Atlantic Airways were meant for each other. Last October, Siladi was seconded to Hongkong to set up the Virgin Atlantic operation here. Within the organisation he was the obvious choice. He is the only manager in the company who speaks fluent Mandarin. In typical Virgin fashion, Siladi was approached by owner Richard Branson one Monday morning in New York, and arrived in Hongkong on Thursday of the same week. One year on, the charismatic Siladi has moulded Virgin's Hongkong operation into another freewheeling successful outfit. |
