AbstractOver the last few years, broadcasting opportunities in Hong Kong have been cracked wide open with the arrival of satellite and cable TV. As the government pursues its broadcasting deregulation policy, more changes are in store. New channels are multiplying as broadcasters try to plug into all the TV niches offered by an increasingly wealthy and viewing hungry public willing to pay for prime shows. In providing that fare, the broadcasters are also eyeing their slice of six billion dollars spent annually in Hong Kong on advertising.
