| Abstract | This article critically analyses business process re-engineering (BPR). The antecedents and consequences of such IT-enabled initiatives are considered while the business and human resource perspectives of this phenomenon are presented. A BPR effort in a major Hong Kong bank is described while other BPR results are summarized. Based on current organisational management trends, a prognosis for the future of BPR is offered. |
