| Abstract | This paper reviews traditional and current developments in the ward management systems of Hong Kong public hospitals. Problems that have arisen from the structure are highlighted. Recommendations for improvements focus on a collaborative role relationship between the Nursing Officer and the Ward Manager that would best promote quality patient care. |
