| Abstract | This paper presents the work of the authors' team using the solution-focused approach in the Practice Centre, Department of Applied Social Studies, Hong Kong Polytechnic since 1990. Twenty-five cases of various nature were completed. The approach was found basically effective and applicable in the Chinese population in Hong Kong. The brevity of the model, the clear steps and direction to be followed and the emphasis and focus on constructing solution instead of understanding problem are the most powerful parts of the approach. |
