| Abstract | The responses of 1,501 midlife parents to the Chinese version of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (C-DAS) and other tools assessing their midlife crisis and psychological well-being were examined. It was revealed that most of the respondents could be regarded as maritally adjust. Those who displayed more signs of marital maladjustment had: a) more psychiatric and midlife crisis symptoms and they perceived their health to be relatively poorer; and b) lower levels of purpose in life and life satisfaction. |
