| Abstract | An estimated 4,000 Hongkong Internet subscribers had their access cut off last week during a row between one of the main service providers and the US company that supplies its direct link to the Internet. The local service provider, Hongkong Internet and Gateway Services, had been selling bandwidth to other local providers, without a direct link to the US Internet "backbone" - in breach of its contract, according to its US supplier. The clients of the "sub-contractors" have had their access cut off. |
