AbstractIn the short-term, the overheating and the austerity measures in China are creating a lot of problems. But inflation there is now in the 21% range, from 28% some months ago. Retail sales have also started to slow. Chinese exports have picked up and that benefits Hong Kong because it generates re-exports.
