| Abstract | This paper attempts to review some of the literature on the psychological sequelae of abortion, and to draw some working principles for the medical profession when faced with a request for legal termination of pregnancy. The psychological reactions involved during the decision-making process and after the abortion procedure are discussed. The at risk factors are also described, and pre/post abortion counselling is suggested. |
