| Abstract | A preliminary report of a study of verbal working memory in 161 schizophrenic patients is presented. The authors aim to resolve conflicting findings in previous studies by employing a larger sample size. An impairment in verbal working memory is found in their sample of schizophrenic patients. The neurobiological and functional implications of this finding are discussed. |
