Abstract | In the first ten months of 1994, total export value stood at US$89.87 billion, a rise of 29.7 percent over the same period of 1993, while the total import value came to US$87.45 billion, showing a favourable balance of US$2.42 billion. The strong export momentum augmented the foreign exchange reserve of the state and stabilized the exchange rate of Renminbi, thus offering forceful guarantees for the smooth implementation of various reform measures. |
