| Abstract | The present study was undertaken with the aim to explore the issue in Chinese communities on Hong Kong through the use of detailed and in-depth case studies. Cultural relativity was found and cross-cultural explanations were attempted. As in many Western communities, incest can be considered as symptomatic of family pathology. Disorganization in the subsystems is typical of those families where liaison takes place, yet the pattern and nature of dysfunctioning in Chinese communities might warrant discussion and review. |
