| Abstract | This article reports on a study aimed at investigating the pattern of localization and the factors affecting localization in the hotel industry of Hong Kong. It was found that over forty per cent of hotel general managers in Hong Kong were expatriates, and hotels of higher tariff room rate tended to employ an expatriate general manager. It seems that there will be no significant change in the proportion of local and expatriate hotel managers in the near future due to various factors hindering localization. |
