| Abstract | An analysis of data collected from tide gauges has indicated that the Hong Kong area is undergoing uplift at a rate of about 1 mm/year. However, in coastal land reclamations under the influence of long term ground settlement, the rate of subsidence may exceed the rate of uplift resulting in an apparent relative sea-level rise. |
